In 1980 The longest running court case in U.S. history, the Sioux Nation v. the United States, was ruled upon by the U.S. Supreme Court. The court determined that, when the Sioux were resettled onto reservations and seven million acres of their land were opened up to prospectors and homesteaders, the terms of the second Fort Laramie treaty had been violated. The court stated that the Black Hills were illegally taken and that the initial offering price plus interest should be paid to the Sioux Nation. As payment for the Black Hills, the court awarded only 106 million dollars to the Sioux Nation. The Sioux refused the money with the rallying cry, “The Black Hills are not for sale.”

It has been a sad week with the lose of Jamie Pierre. Having followed his riding for years and only recently meeting him for a morning interview. I was proud to invite him to our community, especially with the respect he held for Montana. His motivation, humble view of life, love for riding, and desire to provide his family a quality future will be missed but not forgotten. Thanks for the interview Jamie, we are humbled to spread your words with the community and happy to carry on your love to ride. Wear a helmet, love your life, and respect the mountains.

Found this on the world wide web today. Best link of the day and will defiantly be on my list of timelaspe needs for winter shooting. Would be great for the spring storms here in Montana. AND the fact that I fried my first intervelometer shooting in Lake McDonald at Glacier NP this weekend. Waterproof is sounding much needed.

The Mountain” by Terje Sorgjerd is one of the best timelapse shorts that I have seen lately. Covering the aspects of astro and the environment. From daylight tree scapes to sunset colors that transition into night astro shots. Great color and composition.
CHECK OUT MORE > of his insane photographs and aurora videos at TSO Photography and check out his VIMEO page for more info on this video.

Multi-talented Adam Haynes has site of the day. Been following his work for sometime, especially being that he is an MSU design grad, provided the most amazing MUNNY for our GVSA MunnyRaiser, and most recently killed the FREEHUB issue2 cover. Cheers Adam, nice updated site and solid presentation of your work.
